So, apparently I only post when I am not working regularly. But anyway, we had a great celebratory meal for Father’s Day/my mother’s birthday.
We had grilled lamb,
A special salad, which came from this recipe, but we made it with lime juice and home-grown lettuce instead of the more flavorful arugula, because that is what we had.
And it all came together with a (slightly burnt) specialty of mine: grilled garlic bread.
Dessert was rather fancy looking, even if it was very simple.
Miniature strawberry shortcakes and coffee.
And, naturally, here is your gratuitous close up.
For dinner tonight we had a Maryland classic: crab cakes, with some pasta salad and Italian tomatoes.
And of course, a gratuitous close-up.
The past semester was a doozy, and frankly, I didn’t do much cooking worth noting. So, I am back, on an as of yet undetermined schedule for the summer.
The other day we had our homemade pizza, and it was fantastic.
The pizza is made with a really good focaccia style crust, and a spicy sauce which my mother makes. Lately, we have been using fresh mozzarella and because the basil plants are doing pretty well, fresh basil.
So, my family’s pizza margarita.
Naturally with a nice salad.
And, of course, the gratuitous close-up.
I’m back. I don’t really have any excuse for disappearing (well, no valid reasons) so lets just look at some food.
I had chili tonight:
along with a delicious salad
Here is a fantastic breakfast I had a few days back.
Raisin bagel with butter, hard-boiled egg, and some cantaloupe.
Speaking of bagels, this one came from Einstein’s. I really like their bagels.
And just because this is the internet, here is a picture of my sister’s cat.
